MESA, Ariz. -- If you find yourself missing the tilt steering wheel from your daily driver when you cruise in your classic Chevrolet, you don’t have to anymore. Now you can add a tilt steering column from Impala Bob’s. Available in a variety of finishes for cars and trucks with either a floor shift or column shift, Impala Bob’s tilt steering columns can be added to 1955-66 full-size Chevrolets, 1964-68 Chevelle and El Camino, and 1947-72 full-size trucks. Customers can order online or call 1-800-IMPALAS (1-800-467-2527).

“Tilt wheels are standard on most of today’s cars, but it was a rare option back in the 50s, 60s and early 70s,” said Impala Bob’s President Bob Antebi. “For many drivers, the fixed steering wheel angle isn’t always the most comfortable, so having a tilt wheel can make long cruises much more enjoyable.

All Impala Bob’s tilt steering columns are available in paintable bare steel, chrome, brushed aluminum or polished aluminum. They include all wiring, along with self-canceling turn signals, plus neutral safety switches for column-shift models.  Tilt steering columns are available for:

  • 1955-57 full size, including Bel Air, 210 and 150, OEM or 605 steering box, $299.95 to $935.95
  • 1958-66 full size, including Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne and Caprice, $359.99 to $1,119.99
  • 1964-68 Chevelle and El Camino, floor shift only, $399.99 to $724.99
  • 1949-72 full-size trucks, Suburban and Blazer, $275.00 to $999.00
